Overview

Located in the charming 18th arrondissement of Paris, Le Jardin d'en Face offers an authentic French dining experience that captures the essence of Montmartre's vibrant atmosphere. This intimate bistro, nestled at 29 Rue des Trois Frères, brings a unique blend of traditional French cuisine with a modern touch, appealing to both locals and visitors seeking a genuine taste of Parisian gastronomy.

The restaurant specializes in classic French dishes, with duck featured prominently on the menu. Diners' experiences with the duck vary, reflecting the nuanced nature of its preparation. While some found the duck breast tender, juicy, and perfectly seared with smoky undertones, others noted a chewy texture, suggesting occasional inconsistency. Regardless, the duck confit dishes, such as the Shepard’s pie, have received high praise for their rich flavor and comforting appeal, standing out as a signature highlight.

Start your meal with refined starters like the egg paired with foie gras or the deeply flavorful French onion soup—hailed by many as some of the best in Paris. The goat cheese tart also commands attention with its delicate balance of creamy and tangy notes. For dessert, the crème brûlée rarely disappoints, boasting a crisp caramelized crust and silky custard beneath, rounding out the meal with subtle elegance.

Le Jardin d'en Face offers more than food; it provides a space that is small yet full of warmth. The cozy interior creates a close-knit, vibrant vibe that enhances every dining moment. This setting is perfect for those who appreciate not only delicious cuisine but also an intimate atmosphere where attentive service complements the culinary experience.

This restaurant’s charm lies in its strong ties to local culture and cuisine, simultaneously honoring its sister establishment, Le Potager du Père Thierry, while carving out its own identity. Le Jardin d'en Face caters especially to food enthusiasts seeking solid value and an immersive Parisian dining adventure — whether you're a lover of refined French gastronomy or simply in search of an inviting spot in Montmartre.

This is a sister restaurant of Le Potager du Père Thierry Duck was the let down. :-( We ordered multiple duck breast main dish, but all were kind of chewy. Sigh. Starter: egg with fois gras and onion soup were very good. Dessert: Cream bulee was good, not superb. atmosphere: small restaurant, tight space, excellent vibe. Service: Good for a small restaurant

The duck breast was perfectly seared, tender and juicy, with a rich, smoky flavor. The crème brûlée had a perfectly caramelized top and a silky smooth custard underneath.

We had an amazing dinner and couldn’t recommend it more. The food feels like true home cooking with so much care and love in every dish. I had the soup à l’oignon and la mère veille which were both absolutely delicious. My partner had the œuf cocotte au food gras, followed by a perfectly cooked duck breast. For dessert, we shared the crème brûlée and the white chocolate mousse, and both were incredible. The service was warm and the whole atmosphere felt cosy and authentic, exactly what you want in Montmartre. The quality of the food for the price was incredible. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Paris. A wonderful find!

Just perfect. One of the last "real" places around, with incredibly kind service and fantastic food at reasonable prices in an otherwise insanely overpriced neighborhood! Be sure to stop at Le Bar Basque across the street for some good, well priced wine/beer after!
